Introduction:
Over the last few decades, must students prefer to come to the UK for studying .The UK welcomed the foreign students from other countries . In 2003/2004 it had among 10,000 international students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. For the reason that, the UK universities have the highest standard certificates and qualities .In addition to having more than 50,000 postgraduate courses , as students can choose their favourite subjects easily. The majority of the universities in the UK are the oldest in the world and some of them are nearly newest.
The vast majority of students would like to study here, because this is a good opportunity for them to improve their English language skills, as English is the language of the technology and for business and so on. On the other hand when the students come to London and start their courses, this fact causes to increase the income of the universities. Therefore virtually all universities try to solve their problems, that a large number of international students prefer to come in that universities for studying. Besides, before the international students move to the London, they are a little annoyed, because they do not know anything about anyone, so most of the problems seem difficult for them such as how they can deal with the different culture, or how they can find some where to live and another problems is how they can open a bank account.
A good deal of research has been done on what problems do international students at UK usually have when they arrive to Britain. I think this research is useful for international students, as well how they can solve their problems and they do not have any stress in their new life.
Aim:
The purpose of this research is to find out the main problems international University students are having in their first few weeks, then to see what they do to solve these problems and if they are aware of who they need to speak to in order to get help and finally final aim was to see if students feel prepared for their new life in London.
Methods:
The sample size was 31 international students in London Metropolitan University.
At first my group and I made some questions about what kind of problems international students have when they come to the UK? Our questionnaire consists of closed and opened questions, in order to collect more data. In fact we tried to prepare easy questions which could be understood by international students, afterwards we asked them about that. Next they replied those questioners and their answers were different from each other.
