In this lecture David Crystal looks at how language is changing as a result of the Internet. He discusses the challenges of having access to personal electronic data such as, e-mail, texting,,instant messaging etc., in order to research these changes effectively. He challenges the view that the kind of language being used in these informal contexts is having a negative impact on the development of the English language.
